Monthy Meetings:

Harbor Regional Center: Autism South Bay Parents’ group meets the first Tuesday of the month from 6:30 – 8:30 at HRC (21231 Hawthorne Blvd., Torrance, CA 90503)

LA Feat (Los Angeles Families for Effective Autism Treatment): Second Monday of every month from 7 – 9  p.m. at the Kiwanis Club of Hermosa Beach (2515 Valley Drive, Hermosa Beach, CA, 90254

TACA (Talking About Curing Autism): Meets the first Saturday of each month from 12:00 to 2:30 featuring educational speakers on important topics at Ability First (377 0 East Willow Street, Long Beach, CA,  90815.

Resource Libraries:

TACA: maintains a resource library of the latest autism books and DVDs/CDs that can be checked out by members at no charge.

Harbor Regional Center:  6,100+ books, pamphlets, journals, audio-visual media materials, toys, and HRC publications about services and supports, and how to access them.

Autism Family Camp:

Friends of Angels Camp: Journey Covenant church has an amazing annual family camp with a full heaping of love and acceptance for families with children on the autism spectrum.  They also have a weekly Sunday School class for kids with special needs.

Outstanding Dad Blogs:

There are a whole lot of dad blogs out there on the net. Here’s the few I read on a regular basis:

Cry it Out:  Mike’s specialty is DIY projects with 6-year-old Emma which are collected in a book

Dadcentric:  A junta of smart, edgy, and talented writer-dads seeking to overthrow outdated notions of Fatherhood.

Honea Express: Los Angeles blogger Whit makes a living writing online and on his elementary-age boys.

Mocha Dad: This father of three blogs to motivate men to be actively engaged with their children, families, and communities.

Dad-o-Matic: Dad-o-matic and other dads share their experiences and perspectives on being a dad.

Mom Blogs:

Mom in Los Angeles:  A top mom blog by a stay at home mom about going places in the South Bay and Los Angeles with her 4-year-old son E-man.

The Very Worst Missionary: Inappropriate remarks, embarrassing antics, and generally lame observations from a Christian missionary in Costa Rica California.

Parenting Sites:

Babble: Telling the truth about parenting, digging into the magical and maddening reality, exploring parenting with honesty and  and humor.

Huffington Post: The top-ranked blog on Technorati is the first digitally run media to win a Pulitizer Prize, it offers news, real life parenting stories, and advice from experts.
