Building a Relationship through Adventure

This was the calm before the storm. After going to the beach, D and I went for lunch at Black Bear restaurant and an ice-cream sundae came with his meal.

I know he is gluten-free and dairy-free, and I’d promised the Wife not to buy him Chocolate Lava Cake or any Ice Cream, but D really wanted the dessert.

“No” seemed to be a cruel response, and though I knew the Wife would get upset if she found out, I let him have the ice-cream.

He devoured it, getting chocolate syrup stains in his t-shirt in the process, and I knew we were busted.

Ironically, I found out the Chocolate Lava Cake was gluten-free and guilt-free (since D and I wouldn’t need to keep any secrets) on our next visit.
